PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, April 12, 2010 –
The FIVB Executive Committee completed the first
day of its two day meeting on Monday with a
number of key decisions put forward to the FIVB
Board of Administration for approval once it
meets from April 14-16.
Key decisions included the review and approval
of the 2010 budget, the approval of new
financial regulations while the Executive
Committee approved the Sports Events Council
report, which covered an update to the FIVB
Sports Regulations, the world ranking procedure,
a report in the Club World Championships, a
review of the vacancies for Junior and Youth
World Championships and the host city selection
process for the FIVB under age group
tournaments, which includes Turkey to host the
Girls Youth World Championship, Peru to be the
venue for the Women’s Junior World Championship
and the Men’s Junior World Championship to be
held in Brazil.
The FIVB Executive Committee’s recommendations
will be put forward to the FIVB Board of
Administration for a final decision when it
meets from Wednesday to Friday.
The second and final day of the FIVB Executive
Committee will start at 09:00 (local time) on
Tuesday.
